REDLINE TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW VOLVO JHV JONCKHEERE 53 SEATER EXECUTIVE COACH

Redline Travel, one of the leading coach hire companies in the North West of England, has taken delivery of another of Volvo Buses B11Rs, to complement its growing fleet.

The new 53-seater, which features Jonckheere bodywork, joins Redline Travel’s fleet of more than 20 vehicles. The new coach will provide services to residents and visitors in and around Lancashire and will be used to service a range of national tours and for use on several school contracts.

Shane Nuttall, Managing Director at Redline Travel commended the quality of Volvo Buses, stating: “We have been working with Volvo for several years now and have been incredibly impressed with its exceptional reliability, product excellence and unmatched customer support. We already have around 14 Volvo vehicles in our fleet, six of which are B11Rs with Jonckheere bodywork, so the decision to purchase yet another was very easy. We are confident that this purchase will strengthen our offering to customers in the North West even further.”

Redline Travel also chose to accompany the purchase of this vehicle with a gold maintenance contract, perfectly designed to provide complete peace of mind. For a pre-determined fee, all the necessary chassis maintenance and any repairs will be looked after by Volvo Buses and gives Redline Travel protection against unforeseen downtime and expenses.

Rosemere’s Ticket to Ride from Redline

Preston bus company, Redline, has just the ticket for Rosemere Cancer Foundation – for the third year running, it is to provide a free shuttle service for those taking part in the charity’s annual, Eric Wright Group sponsored Walk in the Dark fundraiser.

The family-owned firm, founded by Shane and Rowena Nuttall in 1987, is donating three buses, which will ferry those wanting to park at the walk’s finish at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at the Royal Preston Hospital to its starting point 11 miles down the A6 at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

This year’s walk, the 11th in succession, takes place on Saturday 27th April, starting at around 9 pm. Redline operations manager Richard Saunders, who is the Nuttalls’ son-in-law and who, with wife Siobhan and a Redline team of six others, completed last year’s Walk in the Dark, said: “We are expecting to transport between 200 to 250 walkers.

“We will have buses at the Royal Preston from 7 pm onwards, which will set out for Chorley as soon as they are full. It makes good sense for people to leave their cars at walk’s end.”

Walk in the Dark has been walked by more than 2,500 people from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria over its history, who have collectively raised just short of £300,000 through entry fees and sponsorship. This makes Walk in the Dark Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s single most important event in the charity’s year-long fundraising calendar.

Rebecca Hall, Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s central area fundraising  co-ordinator, who is in charge of Walk in the Dark’s organisation, said: “We are extremely grateful to Redline for providing free transportation for our walkers. It’s very generous of the company to supply buses and drivers on a Saturday night.”

Entry to Walk in the Dark is now open via online registration at www.rosemere.org.uk or by calling 01772 522913.

The entry fee is £10 per person with children under 12 able to participate for free. Dogs are also welcome. Walkers are invited to dress up to help give the event a carnival atmosphere and to display the names of loved ones they may be walking in memory of.

Walkers walk at their own speed – there is no time limit. All entrants receive a goody bag at the start of the walk and are welcomed at the finish with brews and bacon barms.

Redline provides school bus services and transport locally but operates throughout the country working for tour companies and undertaking private hire bookings for concerts, race days and other events.

Rosemere Cancer Foundation works to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria being treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre, the region’s specialist cancer treatment centre, and eight other local hospital cancer units across the two counties. It does this by funding cutting edge equipment, research, training and other services that would otherwise be beyond limited NHS resources.
